Mercedes is an experienced Personal Trainer with a proven track record of helping businesses grow and people increase their health and fitness. She has 9+ years of experience working in the fitness industry. During this time, she has obtained her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology through the University of Manitoba and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA. Mercedes has owned her own personal training business for 7+ years, and has made it her mission to help spread the word about the importance of physical activity and moving your body. She has experience in personal, partner, and small group training as well as leading fitness classes for general population and strength and conditioning sessions with junior athletes. From ages 8 to 80, Mercedes can help you reach your goals. She has helped athletes increase their performance in field sports, break records in powerlifting, prep for bodybuilding shows, and reduce their risk of injury through resistance training. She has also helped people change their body composition to lose over 80lbs, while fostering a healthy relationship with physical activity and nutrition.
Mercedes' mission is to help guide others in becoming healthier, happier, and stronger versions of themselves, by taking a step by step approach to developing a realistic and sustainable physically active lifestyle. Her focus is on physical activity; mainly strength training and functional movements to improve general health and fitness, promote fat loss, and assist in athlete development and longevity.
Mercedes started off her fitness journey 12 years ago with running, where she fell in love with being active. A few years (and injuries) later she discovered strength training as a tool to help her with running, but it quickly became her main focus as it had helped her increase her confidence exponentially and feel better in her body. In 2019 Mercedes discovered Crossfit, and found her sport. Crossfit gave her an opportunity to be an athlete and do a sport, something she never got to do growing up. Crossfit was like the sport of working out for time, which was something she felt she could do - push herself in workouts. She was hooked from the start. Mercedes currently competes in Crossfit on top of working as a Private trainer and overseeing the Private training sector at Undefeated Health and Performance.
In her downtime, Mercedes enjoys all things outdoors (especially in the summer). In winter her favourite things to do are snowboarding and winter hikes, and in the summer she enjoys much longer hikes, bike rides (everywhere), and camping. She also enjoys reading, journaling, singing, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
